Discovering Your Happiness
Discovering Your Happiness
If you really believe in what matters, you’ll learn to recognize how much is already around you.
We live under the spell of marketing professionals whose job it is to make us feel dissatisfied with our lives. If we can just purchase that one product, they say, we’ll finally fill the hole inside. So we want and we crave, but we still feel unhappy, not realizing how happy we should be with what we already have.
And that’s discovered through an attitude of thankfulness. Choosing a thankful attitude isn’t difficult. You simply need to close your ears to the sirens of discontentment. Then at the top of your lungs, sing the melody of family and friends, the roof over your head, the food in your belly, and the God who loves you.
Make a habit of writing those mental thank-you notes every day, and you’ll discover how happy you really are.
Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. —1 Chronicles 16:8
