The Look Of Healing
The Look of Healing
If forgiveness is the how of healing, openness is the look of healing.
When you’re forgiven and know how to forgive others, there’s nothing to hide anymore. You don’t have to put on masks, build walls, or burn bridges. People in the process of being made whole are more open. They’re more open about who they are to themselves, to God, and to others.
Forgiveness frees you from the bondage of brokenness, but openness is the key to maintaining it and ensuring that your healing proceeds on schedule.
The more transparent you are about your pain, the quicker your healing will occur. And the whole person, whose wrongs are being made right, is an open book. You are free to be who you are and free to become who you’re meant to be.
Every Genesis has a Revelation. If you really want to be made well, your great revealing can begin right now.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.” —Matthew 18:21–22
