The Greatest Thing
The Greatest Thing
The mark of your faithfulness will ultimately be seen in one thing, the greatest thing: how well you have loved God and others.
You live in fear and doubt. Love always believes.
You break your promises and betray your family and friends. Love always trusts.
You run away from God and the companions you most need. Love restores and connects.
You go your own way and despair that your life will ever matter. Love invites you to return.
Although love isn’t the only thing, it is the greatest thing. Your life matters because even when you feel the most unworthy, you are loved. Your life matters because even when you’ve known only brokenness, you can learn to love again.
Love is bigger than all of us. That’s the whole point. Remain faithful to your love for God, His love for you, and your love for others, and everything else will truly matter.
[Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. —1 Corinthians 13:7–8
