Friends Who Lift You Up

Friends Who Lift You Up

They’re right next to your spouse on speed dial. If you need to vent, they’ll let you. If they offer advice, you take it. They’ll meet you for coffee at a moment’s notice or open their door to you if you’ve had a miserable day.

The friends who matter are an oasis in the desert of I’ve had too much. When you’re at your weakest, they’re the ones you turn to. When you’re riddled with the bullets of the world’s insensitivity, they’ll be your sounding board but not your yes men.

And when the problem you’re having isn’t with the world, but with you—when you’ve messed up or fallen along the way—the friends who matter will be there for you then too.

They’ll lift you up with a silly joke to get you out of your head and lift you up when you’ve fallen in another pit.

By the way, only friends on higher ground can lift you up. Find more friends like that.

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. —Proverbs 17:17
