Fix Your Eyes

Fix Your Eyes

When you want to accomplish something, nothing beats a living example. Read all the books, take all the classes, learn from the best teachers, but until you actually meet someone who’s done it, it’ll never seem possible.

God’s Son walked in the same human weakness. He faced the same temptations, the same opposition, yet He made it through to the end. Did he accomplish that by using His heavenly superpowers? No. He trusted in His Father.

In remaining faithful to what matters, your job is less to strive than to trust. God will strengthen you in your weakness and temptation. He will have your back when others try to stop you.

Hopefully you’ve already met the Man who has done what you’re trying to accomplish in living a life that matters. Fix your eyes on Him as you press on toward the goal.

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross. . . . Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. —Hebrews 12:2–3
