Fanning The Flame
Fanning the Flame
This is a nice restaurant.
We haven’t dressed up like this in a while. And we’re both smiling. Should we call the babysitter? No. The kids are okay. We’re actually talking. And boy, is my sweetie looking good. Maybe we can stop for custard on the way home.
Romance looks different when you’re married. Much of the time it can look like pulling weeds together in the garden or you changing diapers while your spouse warms up the formula. But it’s easy to forget that poetry and flowers and dinner dates are part of romance too.
Whether it’s regular date nights or just random acts of kindness, you must flee the monotony of daily life and remind yourselves why that first date turned into a second and why you still matter to each other.
Once you get a good look at your spouse again across the restaurant table, it will come back to you.
Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love. —Ecclesiastes 9:9
