Guidelines

Devotional Submission

Each devotional plan ought to inspire, engage, and encourage the reader to go deeper in God’s Word and in their faith. We are looking for content that is more formative than informative, with a strong emphasis on application.

Visual for Guidelines

Our readers should be able to answer three questions after finishing each devotional plan:

  1. What was the point?
  2. Why is this important?
  3. How do I practically live this out?

Devotional Title

  • Ideally, the devotional title ought to be six words or fewer (or under 25 characters).
  • Titles should be concise, compelling, and clearly communicate what your devotional is about.
Devotional Title Example

Titles for each Day

  • Titles for each day of the plan should be under 25 characters.
  • Titles should be clear and help a reader understand what the devotional of the day is about.

Introductory Scripture

  • Please choose a Scripture passage to kick off your devotional. This passage should be 1–2 verses long.
Title and Introductory Scripture Example

Body

  • Word count: Each day should be between 400–600 words.
  • The Bible is our passion, but due to space, please limit quoted passages (in addition to your Introductory Scripture passage) to just 1–2 verses.

Outro

  • The outro should consist of one of the following: a reflection, short prayer, application, or question(s) related to the topic of the devo.
  • Each devotion should have a strong and clear takeaway message for the reader.
