How can I avoid taking advantage of others? - Using Others/Feeling Used - TouchPoints

How can I avoid taking advantage of others?

Deuteronomy 24:10“If you lend anything to your neighbor, do not enter his house to pick up the item he is giving as security.”

Nehemiah 5:15The former governors, in contrast, had laid heavy burdens on the people, demanding a daily ration of food and wine, besides forty pieces of silver. Even their assistants took advantage of the people. But because I feared God, I did not act that way.

We must realize that God will hold us accountable for the way we treat others.

Genesis 16:1-3Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had not been able to bear children for him. But she had an Egyptian servant named Hagar. So Sarai said to Abram, “The Lord has prevented me from having children. Go and sleep with my servant. Perhaps I can have children through her.” And Abram agreed with Sarai’s proposal. So Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar the Egyptian servant and gave her to Abram as a wife. (This happened ten years after Abram had settled in the land of Canaan.)

We must realize that God can accomplish his purposes without our having to exploit other people.

Matthew 18:1About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”

We must realize that taking advantage of others is a form of insecurity and selfishness.
