Numbers 23:19“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”

1 Samuel 15:29“And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!”

God’s Word is true because it is an extension of God’s truthful character.

John 15:26“I [Jesus] will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.”

John 18:37-38Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” “What is truth?” Pilate asked.

2 Timothy 3:16All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

When the Holy Spirit enlightens our minds, our hearts recognize the truth. Indeed, the human quest for truth finds fulfillment in Christ Jesus, but hard hearts are still free to question and reject the truth.

We can trust the New Testament’s claim of Christ’s resurrection because the story is told by eyewitnesses.
