Why should we trust God?
1 Samuel 15:28-29“He who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!”
Psalm 33:4The word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does.
Titus 1:2This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.
Hebrews 6:18So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.
We should trust God because he always tells the truth.
Exodus 15:13“With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home.”
Exodus 34:6-7The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected—children in the third and fourth generations.”
Psalm 9:10Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.
Psalm 13:5I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
Psalm 21:7The king trusts in the Lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.

Lamentations 3:22The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.
Romans 5:8God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
1 John 4:16We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
We should trust God because he loves us and therefore always has our best interests at heart. The supreme guarantee of God’s love is the sacrifice of his Son for us so that we can be forgiven and live forever in fellowship with him.
Deuteronomy 32:4“He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!”
Joshua 21:44-45The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had solemnly promised their ancestors. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the Lord helped them conquer all their enemies. Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.

Psalm 18:30God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
Psalm 22:4-5Our ancestors trusted in you, and you rescued them. They cried out to you and were saved. They trusted in you and were never disgraced.
Psalm 40:2-3He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.

Psalm 145:13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does.
Isaiah 26:4Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.
Malachi 3:6“I am the Lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed.”
Luke 1:68-70“Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has visited and redeemed his people. He has sent us a mighty Savior from the royal line of his servant David, just as he promised through his holy prophets long ago.”

God is unchanging and reliable—his character is perfect—and he has given us his promises. Because he has always been true and faithful to who he is, we can trust that he will keep all his promises.
Psalm 19:7The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
Psalm 111:7All he does is just and good, and all his commandments are trustworthy.
Psalm 119:86, 138All your commands are trustworthy. Protect me from those who hunt me down without cause. . . . Your laws are perfect and completely trustworthy.
Proverbs 30:5Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.
We should trust God because everything he says and does is just and good.
John 3:13“No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man has come down from heaven.”
John 12:44Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me.”
Romans 5:8God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
2 Corinthians 1:20All of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
1 Peter 1:21Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.
The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus testify to God’s faithfulness to his promises and his merciful love. All of God’s promises about the death and resurrection of Jesus came true. Based on that, we can trust that all the rest of God’s promises will come true too.
