How do I trust God when it feels like he doesn’t care?

Psalm 13:1-2, 5-6O, Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because He is good to me.

When it feels like God is distant or silent, remember that His care is not based on our circumstances but on His unchanging character. He is right beside you, surrounding you with His unfailing love and steady goodness.

Psalm 34:18The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

God promises to be near to those whose hearts are broken. Across every valley and every unanswered prayer, God’s love remains constant.

1 Peter 5:7Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.

Isaiah 41:10Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Deuteronomy 31:8Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you."

Romans 8:28And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.

Even when we can’t see what He’s doing, He is still working for our good and drawing us closer to Him.

Habakkuk 3:17-18Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!

Romans 8:38-39And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalm 46:1-2God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.
