Does my tiredness disappoint God? - Tiredness - TouchPoints
Psalm 103:13-17The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone—as though we had never been here. But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him.
God made us flesh and blood human beings. He loves us as we are, even when we are too weary to keep going. Like a tender parent who carries a sleeping child to bed, so God cares for us when we are exhausted.
Isaiah 41:10“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
Matthew 11:28Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
2 Corinthians 12:9Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
Our weariness can be an opportunity to experience God’s faithfulness. In fact, some of the greatest spiritual lessons come from watching God work when there is nothing else we can do.
