Does God ever tempt us?

Mark 7:15“It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.”

James 1:13Remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.

God doesn’t tempt us. Rather, temptation comes from the devil, the world around us, and most often, from our own sinful nature. Victory over temptation originates from God and flows to our hearts (1 Corinthians 10:13).

James 1:2-4When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

Although God does not send temptation, he often brings good from it by helping us grow stronger through it.
