How can I team up with God in his work?
John 5:19So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.”
Be attentive to what God is doing and join him in his work.
John 14:23Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
Be obedient to what God tells you to do. When you respect God in this way, he promises to support you with his presence and care.
John 15:5“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”
When we recognize our dependency on God, we will be quicker to seek his guidance and follow where he leads.
Matthew 6:10“May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 26:39, 42, 44He [Jesus] went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” . . . Then Jesus left them a second time and prayed, “My Father! If this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will be done.” . . . So he went to pray a third time, saying the same things again.
Romans 12:2Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
1 John 5:14-15We are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
When our vision aligns with God’s own, we can work with purpose, knowing that his plans are being accomplished through us. Our prayers, too, will become more confident as we trust in his plans rather than our own.

1 Corinthians 3:7-9It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. Keep your focus and priority on God as he works through you to accomplish his purpose.
Romans 12:6-8In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
Ephesians 4:16He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
Colossians 3:23-24Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
Accomplish whatever assignment he gives you cheerfully with the talents he has given you. Be grateful that God has given you an assignment and equipped you perfectly to succeed in your tasks. This attitude is crucial for you to be motivated to serve God wherever he leads instead of being a reluctant team member.
