How can I best use my strengths while minimizing my weaknesses?

Exodus 36:1“The Lord has gifted Bezalel, Oholiab, and the other skilled craftsmen with wisdom and ability to perform any task involved in building the sanctuary. Let them construct and furnish the Tabernacle, just as the Lord has commanded.”

1 Corinthians 12:7A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.

It is important that we use our strengths and skills to build and serve the church. We should begin by acknowledging that our skills, talents, and special abilities are gifts from God. Special gifts are given as part of God’s plan and design for us.

Ecclesiastes 4:12A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

By joining with others, we are able to minimize our weaknesses and maximize our strengths.

Ecclesiastes 10:10Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed.

God can give us wisdom to know how to more fully develop and use our strengths.

1 Corinthians 4:7What gives you the right to make such a judgment? What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift?

We must remember to give God full credit for whatever strengths we have. Everything we have comes from him.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.

Having faith in God will help us to be stronger and braver. Note that watchfulness, confidence in God’s Word, courage, and steadfastness are all part of a life that honors God. All the above should be exercised with an attitude of love toward God and our neighbor.

Jeremiah 20:11The Lord stands beside me like a great warrior. Before him my persecutors will stumble. They cannot defeat me. They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated. Their dishonor will never be forgotten.

2 Corinthians 12:9Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

God will stand beside us and help us to be strong, even when we are weak. We should dedicate our weaknesses as well as our strengths to serving him.
