How do I develop a healthy self-esteem?
Romans 12:3Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
Healthy self-esteem involves an honest appraisal of ourselves, not too proud because of the gifts and abilities God has given us, yet not so self-effacing that we fail to use our gifts and abilities to their potential. We can maintain a healthy self-esteem by continually giving God glory for the way he has made us.
1 Peter 4:10God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
Sharing our gifts with others increases our self-worth because it allows God to work more effectively through us. God has chosen to give us certain gifts and abilities, not so we can feel better about ourselves but so we can genuinely help others.
