How do I become a responsible person?

Matthew 25:20-21“The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’ The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities.’”

Galatians 6:5We are each responsible for our own conduct.

We become responsible people by conscientiously obeying God’s Word, doing what is right, and actively using the gifts God has entrusted to us.

Romans 12:3Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

We can become more responsible by assessing how much responsibility we can handle, and not taking on more than we can do well.

Proverbs 3:11-12My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.

Hebrews 12:11No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.

God will train us to be more responsible if we submit to his discipline and let him work in our hearts and minds.
