How do I gain respect?

1 Kings 13:8The man of God said to the king, “Even if you gave me half of everything you own, I would not go with you. I would not eat or drink anything in this place.”

Psalm 25:21May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you.

Proverbs 10:9People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will slip and fall.

Matthew 7:12“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.”

Romans 2:10There will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who do good.

Jude 1:20You, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We gain respect in much the same way we show it—building our lives on God’s Word, having integrity, treating others the way we would like to be treated, not compromising our character, and standing up for truth no matter what.
