If I am a new creation, then why don’t I act like one?
2 Corinthians 5:17This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Romans 12:2Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
In Christ, we are made completely new. Our past mistakes, regrets, and old ways no longer define us—the old life is gone. Through Jesus, we are given a fresh start and a new identity rooted in His grace. In Him, the old life is gone and a new life has begun! Each day is an opportunity to walk in this new life, trusting that God is shaping us more and more into the likeness of Christ.
John 10:10The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
The enemy would like nothing more than to keep us stuck in the past, stealing our joy, and destroying our hope. But Jesus came to give us abundant life—free, full, and new.
Galatians 5:17The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
Romans 7:18-20And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
Ephesians 6:12For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Notice how the enemy tries to pull you away from your faith. Does he whisper lies to you? Attack your identity? Discourage you or tempt you to despair? Remember, as believers, we face this battle daily, but we can pray for God’s protection and stand firm in His truth.
John 10:28-29“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand.”
No matter what —you belong to God! And nothing can snatch you away from His hand.
Galatians 6:7-9Don’t be misled-you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
