What are some of the benefits of a loving relationship?

Proverbs 10:12Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses.

Mark 12:29-31Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-7Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

The benefits that come from loving relationships include forgiveness, patience, kindness, love for truth, love for justice, expecting the best in others, loyalty at any cost, and belief in a person no matter what. Love prohibits jealousy, envy, pride, haughtiness, selfishness, rudeness, demanding one’s own way, irritability, and holding grudges. God promises that unconditionally loving others will bring healing to our relationships.
