What role should redemption play in my relationships?

Colossians 3:12-15Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Because we have been forgiven, we should forgive others and work to live in perfect harmony with others.

1 John 3:16We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Because Jesus paid our ransom by giving up his life for us, we should be willing to give up our lives for others, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ. This means putting their needs above our own and working for their good, even if it involves personal sacrifice.
