In what ways is Jesus Christ God’s provision for me?
2 Peter 1:3-4By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need to live a godly life. His presence within us is God’s onboard provision of wisdom and power, allowing us to do and become all he desires.
John 6:35Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
John 8:12Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”
John 10:9-10“Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
John 10:14-15“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.”
John 11:25-26Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”
John 14:6Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
John 15:1, 5, 7-8“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. . . . “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. . . . But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.”
Jesus is God’s greatest provision for our greatest needs. He is our nourishment, our protection, our redeemer, our direction, our daily companion, and our eternal hope. He is our everything!
John 3:16“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
Romans 5:8-11God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
Romans 8:32Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
Since God gave us the ultimate provision of his Son, we can trust him for everything we need in order to live life for his glory. Jesus is the incarnation of God’s love, the evidence that God has done everything necessary for our salvation.
