Why does it sometimes seem as if God hasn’t fulfilled his promise?

2 Peter 3:8You must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.

Because we are time-bound creatures, we find it almost impossible to see our circumstances from God’s perspective. He is not bound by time or by our schedules. Impatience is simply a reminder that our timing is not God’s timing, but his decisions to act are always perfectly timed.

Habakkuk 2:3This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

God will fulfill his promises, but often his timetable is different from ours. We are called to wait and trust, confident in God’s truthfulness.
