How does God view my problems? - Problems - TouchPoints
Matthew 6:26-30“Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”
1 Peter 5:7Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
We can be confident that God cares about us and is concerned about our problems.
Psalm 145:14The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.
Matthew 10:29-31“What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”
Matthew 11:28Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
God is not only aware of our problems, he wants to help us solve them. He is with us in all the problems we face.
2 Corinthians 4:9We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.
Hebrews 4:14-16So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
1 Peter 5:10In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
God will never desert those who follow him. He doesn’t take the day off and forget about us. When we accidentally cut ourselves, we become completely focused on how bad our injury is and on how to stop the bleeding. All we want to do is get rid of the pain. In the same way, our problems and troubles can focus us so much on getting rid of the pain that we neglect God and forget that he has promised to help us in our difficulties. But to abandon us, God would have to cease loving us, and he cannot do that because love is a core element of his eternal character.
Exodus 4:10-12But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.”
God addresses our particular problems with trustworthy, sure solutions. When we take our problems to God, we can rely on him to deal with them. But expect that he will deal with them his way, which is always in our best interest. Often he uses our problems to help us grow. Sometimes that might lead him to delay the solution for our ultimate benefit.
Acts 8:4The believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went.
Romans 8:28We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Philippians 1:12-14I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ. And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.
God may use our problems to lead us in a new direction for a new assignment. The closed door of a problem we face may reveal an open door elsewhere. God can turn our problems into new avenues for his work.
