How can I help others in the midst of their problems? - Problems - TouchPoints
Matthew 9:35-36Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
2 Corinthians 1:3-7God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us.
Philippians 4:14You have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.
Hebrews 13:1-2Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!
1 Peter 4:8Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
1 John 3:11This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
We can genuinely love others with our actions, our emotions, our attitudes, our words, and our presence. Love resolves a thousand problems and prevents a thousand more. This is particularly true as we experience God’s help and comfort in and through all our problems.
Romans 15:1-4We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves. We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. For even Christ didn’t live to please himself. As the Scriptures say, “The insults of those who insult you, O God, have fallen on me.” Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.
Galatians 6:2Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
God works through others to show comfort and concern, to restore and refresh, to correct and challenge. While everyone has burdens to bear, one of the great advantages of being part of God’s family is that we do not have to bear them alone. And we can always be open to helping others bear their burdens.
