What comfort can I take from God’s presence?

John 14:26-29“But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am. I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do happen, you will believe.”

Ephesians 1:14The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

The presence of God in our lives is a guarantee of his eternal promises to us.

Psalm 16:11You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Psalm 21:6You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence.

Psalm 26:8I love your sanctuary, Lord, the place where your glorious presence dwells.

Psalm 31:20You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues.

Psalm 68:4Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord—rejoice in his presence!

Psalm 121:3-4He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.

When we live in harmony with God, we will find joy and delight in his presence.
