Does God care that I’m poor? - Poverty - TouchPoints
Isaiah 25:4You are a tower of refuge to the poor, O Lord, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. You are a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat.
Hebrews 13:5Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
Romans 8:35-37Does it mean he [God] no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? . . . No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
The Bible states often that God has a special concern for the poor. So don’t accept the identity of a victim or convince yourself that there is no hope. No matter what your circumstances, God is with you. God is not necessarily in the business of making us rich or poor, but he is in the business of helping us all—rich or poor—walk with him through all life’s difficulties.
