Is there any hope for world peace?

Micah 4:3The Lord will mediate between peoples and will settle disputes between strong nations far away. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore.

War is an inevitable consequence of human sin. The pursuit of peace between people and between nations is a worthwhile effort, but our condition as sinners will always leave this work incomplete. When Jesus returns, there will be peace forever.

Matthew 5:9“God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.”

Christians are called to work and pray for peace in the world and that others will make peace with God. This work must always include encouraging others to let God establish peace with them through Jesus Christ, since peace at the human level alone will always be hampered by sin. With God’s help, we can make a difference!
