Why does God promise to meet my needs?

Matthew 6:25-26“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?”

Matthew 7:11“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”

Matthew 10:31“So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”

1 John 3:1See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.

We are God’s children, and he loves us. If he provides for the needs of sparrows, how much more will he provide for his beloved children!

2 Peter 1:3By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

God meets our needs to help us live fully for him. When the Lord reaches out to supply our needs, we will grow in our trust of him.

2 Kings 4:42-44One day a man from Baal-shalishah brought the man of God a sack of fresh grain and twenty loaves of barley bread made from the first grain of his harvest. Elisha said, “Give it to the people so they can eat.” “What?” his servant exclaimed. “Feed a hundred people with only this?” But Elisha repeated, “Give it to the people so they can eat, for this is what the Lord says: Everyone will eat, and there will even be some left over!” And when they gave it to the people, there was plenty for all and some left over, just as the Lord had promised.”

Matthew 6:33“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

2 Corinthians 9:8God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

God gives to us so we will give to others. He is looking for servants through whom he can express his love and care. When he finds them, they become a channel for his provision.
