What is God calling me to do?

Matthew 9:37-3He [Jesus] said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

People are ready to hear and receive the Good News of God’s love. But with this promise comes the responsibility to work and to pray. The Lord expects us to enter fully into his work of having our lives show the world his love.

Matthew 16:18-19“Upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you lock on earth will be locked in heaven, and whatever you open on earth will be opened in heaven.”

As followers of Christ, we are part of the Church or the people of God. God has promised that one day the kingdom of darkness will be overcome and victory will be his. Until then, we have work to do and battles to fight against the forces of evil. We must not be on the defensive, biding our time until victory comes. Instead, we should take the offensive and overcome evil with good.
