How can I prevent feeling insecure?

Psalm 40:1-2I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

Psalm 63:8I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.

Psalm 125:1Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever.

Proverbs 1:33“All who listen to me [Wisdom] will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”

Proverbs 18:10The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.

Matthew 7:24-25“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.”

Our security is based on God’s love and character; our response is to trust and obey. Trust is the basis for security, a confidence that we can count on certain things to be true. And who can be trusted more than God? Confident that God is sovereign and good and that all he says is true, we will believe we are secure in his promises and safe in his care.
