In what ways will humility change my relationships with others?

Matthew 7:3“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?”

Ephesians 4:2Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

Humility empowers us to better love others by helping us overlook their faults because we are so vividly aware of our own.

Matthew 5:23-24“So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.”

Ephesians 4:32Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

James 5:16Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

We need humility to ask for forgiveness. Often, we need humility to forgive as well. Humility inspires us to place our relationships above our pride, and the healing this brings is one small way we can imitate Jesus.
