How does humility affect my prayers?

2 Chronicles 7:14“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”

Luke 22:42“Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

God honors the humble and acknowledges their prayers (Daniel 10:12; 1 Peter 5:6). When we come to God in humility, our prayers will be more aligned with his plans for us because we have taken the important step of recognizing that he is sovereign. His will for our lives will lead us toward what is good and right and away from sin and harm. After we fall to our knees humbly, we will be able to step out boldly.
