How does God respond to those who are humble?

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

1 Peter 5:6So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.

The less we try to honor ourselves, the more God honors and blesses us. Pride builds barriers that keep God out of our lives. Humility opens the way for God to work because we are more willing to seek his help and honor him for it.
