What are some gifts I can give to others?

1 Corinthians 13:4-7Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

We can give others the gift of love.

Matthew 6:14“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.”

Ephesians 4:32Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

We can give others the gift of forgiveness. This reflects God’s greater gift of forgiveness to us.

Proverbs 31:28-29Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”

Romans 12:10Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

1 Peter 3:7In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

We can give others honor and respect.

3 John 1:5-6Dear friend, you are being faithful to God when you care for the traveling teachers who pass through, even though they are strangers to you. They have told the church here of your loving friendship. Please continue providing for such teachers in a manner that pleases God.

We can give others the gifts of hospitality and friendship.

Mark 6:38, 42-44“How much bread do you have?” he asked. “Go and find out.” They came back and reported, “We have five loaves of bread and two fish.” . . . They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish. A total of 5,000 men and their families were fed.

2 Corinthians 8:12-14Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality. Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal.

2 Corinthians 9:9As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”

We can give of our money, service, and other resources to meet people’s needs.

Romans 1:11I [Paul] long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.

We can give others a spiritual blessing by encouraging them to grow stronger in the Lord.
