How has God guaranteed our future?

2 Corinthians 1:22He has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.

2 Corinthians 5:5God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 1:13-14Now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

1 John 5:18We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.

God guarantees our future with his gift of the Holy Spirit to us and the security of the power of Jesus’ salvation for us. When we are “in Christ,” we will live as long as the Lord lives, which is forever. Though our bodies may die, our redeemed souls will live with him forever.
