How can I face the future when it is so uncertain?

Psalm 121:8The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

Hebrews 13:8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

We can face the uncertain future with confidence because we have an unchanging God who loves and guides us. As the old saying puts it: “I may not know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.”

John 16:33“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Jesus never promised a problem-free life; in fact, he promised just the opposite. We shouldn’t be surprised by hard times nor be afraid of them, because Jesus is with us and is far greater than any problem we will ever face.

Matthew 6:34“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Much of what we worry about never happens. So we shouldn’t waste time on any “what-if” worries. Instead, we should spend our worry time as prayer time, lifting up our needs to God.
