What does God think about enjoying life, laughing, and having fun?

Proverbs 17:22A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

God says that being cheerful is good for us.

Psalm 118:24This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

God want us to celebrate each day because he has given it to us to enjoy and live for him.

Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven . . . A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.

Joyful “dance” should be part of life.

Zechariah 8:3-5“And now the Lord says: I am returning to Mount Zion, and I will live in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City; the mountain of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will be called the Holy Mountain. This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Once again old men and women will walk Jerusalem’s streets with their canes and will sit together in the city squares. And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls at play.”

God reveals that “joy” and “play” are signs of his presence.

John 10:10“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

Jesus said that he came to allow us to live life to the full.

Philippians 4:4Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

Our lives should overflow with joy for who God is what he has done for us.
