Should the church be more intentional about fun?

Leviticus 23:1-2The Lord said to Moses, “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as official days for holy assembly.”

Yes, because God gave his people instructions for feasts, festivals, and other events to commemorate and celebrate God and his goodness to them, including deliverance, harvest, and atonement.

Psalm 126:2-3We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!

Yes, because the world will see how joyful and grateful we are for the “amazing things” God has done for us.

Psalm 150:1-6Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heaven! Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness! Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn; praise him with the lyre and harp! Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes! Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!

Yes, because our places of worship (our “sanctuary”) should be places of joy and praise.
