What should I do if I am restless and don’t feel satisfied?

Isaiah 55:1-2“Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink—even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk—it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food.”

God is telling us through Isaiah that true and ultimate fulfillment and satisfaction can only be found in him. So when we feel restless, unfulfilled, and dissatisfied, we should consider if we are investing our resources of time, emotion, talent, and finances in unworthy pursuits. If so, we should repent and ask God to reveal the right focus for us and the next steps he would like us to take.

Psalm 23:1The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

Psalm 37:3-4Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.

As our divine and loving Shepherd, God will provide everything we need as we submit to him.
