Should I pursue my assignments at the cost of my family and health?

1 Timothy 5:8Those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.

Unfortunately, some people sacrifice their health and even their families as they pursue a career or goal. Sometimes, in fact, these endeavors may be Christian-oriented (youth worker, pastor, missionary, or evangelist). We may think that because we are doing God’s work, he will take care of the rest. But God has given us the holy responsibility of caring for ourselves and our families. No goal or project, no matter how big and important, is worth that cost.
