What if I just don’t like some other Christians? - Fellowship - TouchPoints
Romans 12:9-10, 16Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. . . . Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!
Galatians 5:25-26Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.
Philippians 2:3Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
To like people who are likeable is easy, but we model more of God’s love when we serve those who are annoying. We will never find a perfect church, and we will never find a perfect group of people—even among Christians—so we shouldn’t go looking for that. Instead, we should seek God’s guidance as to where we should be and then take joy in reaching out and loving those God has placed in our sphere of influence. We may be surprised at how the power of God can bring the most unlikely people together as friends. When we reach out to others in love, our hearts are also changed.
