How can I pass faith on from generation to generation, or is faith mine alone?

Judges 2:10-11After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel. The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight and served the images of Baal.

1 Kings 15:3He committed the same sins as his father before him, and he was not faithful to the Lord his God, as his ancestor David had been.

2 Timothy 1:5I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.

One generation’s devotion to God does not secure the next generation’s devotion to God. But one generation can leave a legacy of faithfulness. To encourage the next generation, we must involve ourselves with that generation, sharing our stories of God’s faithfulness and living in such a way that they witness our faith in action.
