In what ways can I be a good example?

1 Thessalonians 1:5When we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you.

Good examples or role models are trustworthy and accountable, and their actions display their faith.

Proverbs 31:8-9Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.

Jeremiah 1:10Today I appoint you to stand up against nations and kingdoms.

Ephesians 5:11Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.

A good role model not only does what is right but speaks out against wrong.

Hebrews 5:12You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others.

A good role model teaches others about God’s ways.

Titus 2:7You yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.

A good role model walks the way they talk. They live out God’s Word.

Matthew 5:13“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor?”

A good role model rejects evil’s influence and instead influences others for good.

Being a good role model doesn’t mean a person is perfect but that he or she is striving for maturity.

Being a good role model doesn’t make a person a celebrity; it makes him or her a servant.

1 Timothy 4:12Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Being a good role model has no age requirement.

Every person on earth is a role model of something to someone. We all follow examples, and each person sets an example for others. Our personal presence not only influences others in matters of daily living, but also for good or evil, Christ or the world. Patience, humility, self-control, honesty, selflessness—these character traits and others can all be demonstrated by the simplest of actions in the course of our daily lives.
