What is the relationship between ego and competitiveness?

1 Corinthians 9:24Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!

1 Corinthians 10:31Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Being humble doesn’t mean not trying. In whatever we do, even in competitions, we can do our best, even try to win, while remembering that winning isn’t everything. Living to God’s glory is what is most important.

Philippians 2:3Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

We can be humble and gracious in victory or defeat, putting others and their welfare ahead of our own.
