How can I keep my focus on Jesus when the season feels so busy?
Luke 10:41But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Jesus gently reminds Mary not to get lost in the details. Like Mary, we also must resist the pressure to focus on the wrong things this season. If holiday busyness or pressure overwhelms you, pause, sit in His presence, and let Him help you focus on what truly matters this Christmas.
Psalm 46:10Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.
When we slow down and rest in His presence, we remember that He is in control and worthy of all honor—far beyond our to-do lists and traditions.
Matthew 11:28-29Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Hebrews 12:2We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
Philippians 4:8And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Matthew 6:33“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Psalm 119:37Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
Colossians 3:2Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
