Matthew 5:44“But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!”

Luke 6:32-33“If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them! And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much!”

Romans 12:14, 17-18Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. . . . Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.

You can show Christlikeness to your enemies by treating them with Christ’s love. This will show in what you choose to say—or not say!—and do. It’s easy to love our friends and treat them well; it takes the power of Christ in us to help us love and pray for our enemies.
