What kinds of attitudes are displeasing to God?
Genesis 4:6-7“Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
Our attitude displeases God when we respond with resentment to his discipline. This attitude will separate us from his help and make us vulnerable to sin.
Numbers 21:5They began to speak against God and Moses. “Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained. “There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!”
Our attitude displeases God when we complain continually. This reveals a lack of appreciation for what God has given.
Proverbs 18:12Haughtiness goes before destruction; humility precedes honor.
An attitude of pride displeases God. It influences us think we don’t need God’s help.
