What kind of attitude should direct my outlook on life?

Philippians 4:4-6Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! . . . Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

We can choose to have a God-centered attitude about life. We can be quick to notice everything wrong with a situation, but do we also stop to recognize what is always right: The Lord who loves us is in every situation at all times, in all places. He is with us, he is in control, and he loves us. That is why we are called to cultivate a holy confidence in God that lightens every load and brightens every circumstance.
