How can I explain to other people my decision to adopt a child?

Psalm 127:3Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.

Matthew 18:5“Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.”

If you choose to adopt a child, people close to you may not understand that decision. This may especially be true if the child is of different ethnicity than the adoptive parents. In such situations, the best thing you can do is lovingly explain the journey you took to get to this point and that you believe God brought this child to your family for a purpose.
